Illinois to file complaint against Joliet real estate figure

The Joliet NAACP says the Illinois Department of Registration and Education will file an official complaint against Charles Warrus former president of the Will County Board of Realtors after an informal hearing on April 23 1965. Miss Bethea charged racial discrimination in denying a Joliet west side apartment rental. Warrus admitted the act but argues current regulations do not require license suspension. A formal hearing before the Real Estate Committee is planned possibly in May marking a first for the state.
