Mahoney Elected to Will County Park Board in Five Cornered Race

George Mahoney Jr. advertising manager of The Spectator won first place in a five candidate race for the Will County park board. He received 600 more votes than Raymond Pilcher, while Donald Mateer Raymond Lindblad and Edgar Hartley were defeated. Terms are six years with plans for potential duties and future changes likely after the first meeting on April 15.

Last Warning to Taverns on License Compliance

County lads urged to enter Kiwanis airplane contest

Joliet plans its second annual summer round-up for pre school children on Tuesday April 30 as part of Health Week from April 28 to May 4. Extras to Appear in Passion Play April 22

The Bavarian Baden Passion Play dating to 999 A D will be staged Easter Monday April 22 at Joliet high school auditorium. Presented by Catholic Woman's League and Joliet Knights of Columbus council in English. 64 local extras secured by the extras committee led by Mrs. William D Hickey. The International Players troupe, now touring England after German performances, provides the main cast with a chorus from St Patrick's children and Catholic League juniors.

Joliet School Spring Vacation Scheduled Next Friday

The Joliet school system announces a one week spring vacation starting next Friday April 12 with classes set to resume Easter Monday April 22. Dr. Ambrose H. Perrin, superintendent of schools, made the announcement yesterday. Joliet high school students will also begin vacation at the same time.
