The Special Prof Trumbull will be here about Sept 26 to help publish the Crop Edition of the Spanish American. Reporters struggle to obtain crop data as many farmers are hesitant to participate, which delays coverage and raises costs.
G R Abernathy returned Sunday from Iowa and says he is well gaining weight. Mrs Abernathy is improving but under doctor care and will stay a while. He notes poor crop conditions across Iowa and the nation with late rains hindering pasture and corn field recovery.
Popular salesman Joe Alberton from Raton visits town this week drawing crowds and boosting storefront activity with his appearance.

Miss Phoebe Russel leaves Monday for Carlinville Illinois to join Blackburn College this season. Friends here regret her departure from social circles but cheer her pursuit of higher education and congratulate her on the opportunity.
Mrs. Ethel Harper now runs the telephone switchboard and reports wheat on her Palouse Valley farm yielding over 35 bushels per acre with a test of 63 pounds to the bushel sold Monday, as her father Mr. Day brought produce to market.
Kansas City salesman C G Dietterich arrived in Roy on Wednesday and learned of his son Dick Dietterich's marriage. He walked in unannounced to surprise the newlywed couple and their cattle ranch in the canyons, after Dick forgot to notify his parents.
A Baker family from Conway Texas filed on five half sections of land 25 miles north of Roy under C. E. Deaton. The four brothers and a sister are described as substantial in finances and appearance. They returned to Texas to arrange plans to move back and reside in the area in the future.
The 63d anniversary of the Daughters of Rebekah founding was observed this week with a memorial sermon by the local lodge. No special entertainment was planned for the event.
Mr Etheridge of Mosquero who was in Court here last week protecting his right to his cattle and who was arrested and taken to Union County on some charge preferred by the party indicted for the stealing was promptly released by the Union County Grand Jury. He took Attorney J B Lusk with him over to Clayton and they have had a rather strenuous time the past week.
Donald Upton a pleasant caller at this office says he just spent the summer in Roswell and is back on his old job plowing Fire Guard for the E P and 8 Way. He notes this place is better to live than Roswell despite improvements there.
Prof J E Russel and wife arrived Saturday to prepare for moving into a Floersheim residence on Rychelieu Avenue Roy. They plan to be settled before the new school term begins.
F A Bruce acquired H Church farm of 160 acres three miles east of town and relocated his family on Wednesday. The property is described as one of the best in the area, with a price reflecting the high cost of homesteading. The Bruce Hotel lease was taken by Mrs. Samuel Tyler, formerly of the Oriental Hotel, who moved in Wednesday.
Mr Arnett started a bonfire on his premises monday evening to remove weeds. Roy residents, excited by fire cues and the alert sound, rushed from all directions, only to find a lighthearted joke and no disaster. Mrs Ida Watson at the Roy Cafe unveils a new concert grand piano gifted by her daughter.
J T Howell of Rogers Arkansas arrived here on Wednesday to visit his son who lives on a claim near Mills.
Mrs. H. Goodman hosted the 500 club Friday afternoon in honor of her sister Mrs. Max Karlsruher and her young son Charles David who visited the Goodman home. Karlsruher posted the high score as Mrs. W. H. Willcox had the lowest. a luncheon followed.
