Fire at Oriental Hotel in Roy destroys wooden landmark
At seven o'clock Thursday morning a fire in the Oriental Hotel spread from a bedroom over the kitchen. With no adequate firefighting equipment the blaze consumed the wooden structure, though water and chemical cans saved nearby I Q O, O F Hall, Armor and Patricks residences. Origin unknown. the building owned by Mrs Clarence Wright of Dawson and occupied by Mrs Samuel Tyler. Insured for 1200 dollars. built in 1907.

Trial in Judge Foster Court Convicts Beni no Gonzales
In Judge Foster Court on Tuesday Beni no Gonzales of Mosquero was found guilty of cattle theft from Etheridge of the same community and bound over to the Grand Jury under $1 000 bond. Etheridge had earlier been fined $50 for taking his own cattle home from the Gonzales ranch and was later arrested again and bound over to the Grand Jury after a separate Union County trial. He left with attorney J B Lusk for Clayton. next week promises further developments.
