Mora County Democratic Convention Charts 1914 Nominees

Mora County Democrats met August 30 to select candidates for the Legislature. J. B. Lusk was named permanent chairman. Jesus Pacheco and Irvin Ogden Sr. were endorsed for Representatives with Rafael Romero backing. the party pledged loyalty to Governor McDonald and national and state Democrats and mourned Macario Gallegos.

Crouse Leach Nuptials Tie Roy and Springer Pair

Crouse Leach Miss Jessie Crouse of Roy and Olin Leach of Springer wed in Raton on May 2. The couple met at French and exchanged vows at the Ainsworth home with Rev Russell present. They honeymoon briefly to Trinidad before settling in Springer where the groom runs a business.

Plums and Peaches At the Roy Home Orchard

Visitors saw small plum trees heavy with large fruit at the F A Roy residence before robbers took the harvest. Mrs Roy favors peach and apple trees also loaded with ripening produce. The Roys’ orchard demonstrates the town’s fruit potential and the benefits of home tree care.
