Local youth form Roy band at Deubler shop
A group of about 15 youths met at L. H. Deubler photo shop last Monday night to organize a Roy band. Clint Hester elected manager, L. E. Deubler secretary treasurer, and H. P. German named leader. They will begin practicing immediately with aim of forming one of the finest small bands in the state by spring. Support from business community noted.

Village Board Meets in Regular Session
The Village Board met Monday night and transacted important town business. The telephone and electricity issues were discussed and a grader was authorized to repair bad roads if countryside helpers join. The finances were in excellent condition and the treasurer’s report was accepted. Next regular meeting set for the first Monday in December.
Sister Emerita Passes After Sudden Illness in Roy
The well loved Sister Emerita of St Mary Emerita, a seventh and eighth grade teacher, died Friday November 5 after a brief spell of weakness. The Roy community mourns a cherished educator, sharing funeral rites held November 8 at St George Church with large attendance and tributes from pupils, parishioners, and local families. Burial followed at Calvary Mound, with honors by students and a full church.
