Proclamation by Roy Mayor Resigns Armistice Day

A proclamation from Mayor Fred S. Brown of Roy New Mexico designates Armistice Day November 11 as a legal holiday. He urges all business houses to close for the day and to observe with reverence those who served and sacrificed in World War I. Clerk Frank L. Schultz attests the notice.

Stalts Wilson Romance Ends in Wellington Marriage

A telegram reports Avis Wilson of Mosquero married Allan Stults of Wellington at Clarendon. The couple, after a surprise engagement, plan to reside in El Paso with Stults employed as a bookkeeper. Mrs. Stults is the Wilsons’ daughter, long active in local social circles. The bride and groom were guests of honor in Wellington and Clarendon before heading to El Paso.

Grandmother McCurdy Dies at Roy New Mexico Home

Grandma McCurdy born March 3 1823 in Carroll County Ohio died November 2 1920 at Roy New Mexico residence of grandchildren J E Brown and wife. Survived by daughter Martha Melissa Hall and Mary Margaret deceased at eight. stepchildren in Wellsburg West Virginia. 27 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Lifelong church member cared for sick and needy, nine months confined to her room, ready to answer God’s call.

School Progress at Patachin Sees 90 Pupils

Leaves for New York reunion and homecoming plans

Fred Fluhman departed for New York to meet a brother arriving from Switzerland later this week. The brothers will reunite after years apart and plan a visit to Switzerland before returning. Fluhman has completed a fine new Mesa home by Ray Carr and E Z Henry contractors. The Wagon Mound rally was canceled by Saturday’s storm, ending the dispute for two years.
