A motion to test Springer’s chemical engine and to install an electric fire alarm gang was approved, while incorporation of the town and volunteer fire company registration were also covered.

Birthday Party Celebrates 22d Birthday at Branch Hotel
Monday's birthday party for Car lost Branch drew over forty friends to the Branch Hotel for a jovial celebration. The Branch family spared no effort in entertaining guests with numerous games and a late night repose. Rev. O W Hearn preached at Roy with praise for his engaging sermons. Col Paxton visited from Union County declaring unwavering support. Prof Johnson bought Roy residence and plans to live there. Jack Mills, recent homesteader west of Solano, attended the I O C F Lodge and plans to settle with Roy neighbors. he hails from Hayden Kentucky.
