Fire Protection Meeting in Roy Votes for Alarm System

A mass meeting at the 8 A office discussed fire protection with Attorney J.B. Lusk as chairman and Al Hanson as secretary. A motion to test Springer’s chemical engine and to install an electric fire alarm gang was approved, while incorporation of the town and volunteer fire company registration were also covered.

Roy district school director candidates announce bids

Several individuals declare candidacy for Roy area school director positions. Dr M D Gibbs announces reelection in District No 33 at the April 6 1914 election. Frank A Roy and J Floersheim also enter Roy District Nos 88 and 83 campaigns subject to voter will.

Birthday Party Celebrates 22d Birthday at Branch Hotel

Monday's birthday party for Car lost Branch drew over forty friends to the Branch Hotel for a jovial celebration. The Branch family spared no effort in entertaining guests with numerous games and a late night repose. Rev. O W Hearn preached at Roy with praise for his engaging sermons. Col Paxton visited from Union County declaring unwavering support. Prof Johnson bought Roy residence and plans to live there. Jack Mills, recent homesteader west of Solano, attended the I O C F Lodge and plans to settle with Roy neighbors. he hails from Hayden Kentucky.
