Oscar L. Brown died after a close range shotgun blast at the Terry home in Cuervo during a revel. A coroner's jury ruled the death a gunshot wound inflicted by Terry. Deputy Sherif Wiley O. Mahan jailed him. Mrs. Terry and her ex husband were involved in a jealous dispute said to motivate the killing.
The ladies of the Primrose Progressive circle met at Mrs Lacy Wane’s home Thursday the Mth. A pleasant, interesting session followed, with an elegant repast provided by the hostess.
The Embroidery Club held its regular meeting at Mrs F D Sheltren’s north of town on Thursday. After completing the usual business, the hostess served a dainty luncheon and the gathering enjoyed a pleasant afternoon.
Hern received a telegram from Springer Thursday announcing the death of his aged father. He had been living at the home of his sister Mrs. A. d T. Scherrer of Springer. Mr. Hern and his daughter Mary Loft plan to attend the funeral.
Linggitt Shannon and his wife from St. Louis Missouri, visiting at B Shannon’s home south of town, left for their home Wednesday. Mr Shannon filed on a homestead before leaving and plans to return in a few months to establish their future home at Roy.
Mr T B Mitchell of Albert arrives in Ray from Paysdena California for a few days at Jorge ranch before returning to California. Br Alldredge of Springer pushes the Florenhelm Mercantile Company ventures. Karl Gothman works on his claim south of town then plans to Dawson. Adolph Vorenberg, a Tucumenri businessman, visits the city.
