Roy defeats Springer 8 to 1 as pitcher C. F. McCargo from Taiban leads a strong performance. Brown shines behind the bat while Roy contends for future games, including a planned clash with Clayton and potential home match during 4th of July celebrations.
A rain storm approached like a cloud burst Sunday evening over the mesa, heaviest from Roy to Mills and west across the river. Little hail accompanied it and no damage reported. No wheat injuries from hail have been reported yet and conditions are improving daily.
The Masonry group at Raton and Clayton Masons announce plans for a temple project valued at 100000 dollars followed by a 75000 dollar hall. Roy Masons foresee a future building aiding the craft and community.
H Wortman returns from Colorado and gears up for a wheat harvest expected to rival the two years ago crop. He is sending an 8 A to a friend in Missouri hoping to pique interest.

Will Brashears came home from an intensive course in rubber tire work in Denver. He can operate the expensive vulcanizing machine at the Roy Garage to the best effect and was impressed by the Ford Shops efficiency. He also attended a Tractor Show in Denver and noted many sights not seen locally.
Rev S DeKeuwer, priest in charge at Bueyeres New Mexico, has been granted leave to visit his childhood home in Belgium. He departed for New York last Friday and will sail this week. He sought release to fight for his country but was denied by the Bishop. he then awaited Army calls until the Armistice. Fr Felix Vachon will cover his duties in his absence. Fordson tractors arrive. eight cars, two sold, buyers include L W Wilson Mosquero John Shamblin and Elmer Neild.
Miss Elsye Heela, once a popular Dawson and Roy School teacher, visited Roy last week as guest of Mrs. R. E. Alldredge and Mrs. Al Hanson. The Roy Juniors, boys under 14, show off new uniforms won by selling picture show tickets and are eager to play similar teams statewide.
Cravens and Lester return Sunday from New Mexico State University at Albuquerque and plan summer at home Cravens will replace a position at Fairview Pharmacy while Lester joins Roy Trading Co with Al Hanson to learn merchandising Herman Wendland arrives to a warm welcome from friends as he returns safely from the war.
Wolcott Russell arrived back this week after assisting H. Goodman in Tucumcari and is weighing a bookkeeper position with the Stubblefield Garages.

Professor E C Hollinger, Union County Agricultural Agent, visited Rogast on Friday. He expressed enthusiasm for the wheat crop and traveled to Mosquero to receive and distribute a car of Holstein heifer calves imported from eastern dairy herds for the Boys and Girls clubs of Union County. The calves will be given to children who learn to rear them and gain practical dairying skills.
A July 4th event in Carrizo NM at Leandro J G Gallegos venue invites all to a civic celebration. The program features patriotic addresses, experiences from soldiers who fought in France, an open dance after dinner, a big tent, barbecue, and music by Tafoya and Gonzales Orchestra. Admission is one dollar.
