Hazle Fern White obit reports sudden death near Roy New Mexico

Hazle Fern White died suddenly at the T. C. Scott home near Roy New Mexico after a brief illness. Born September 18 1904 in Van Meter Iowa she grew up in western Oklahoma and Roy Texas and attended Roy High School. She leaves her father F O White five sisters and two brothers and the Roy Christian Church funeral was held with a large turnout.

Riblett Confesses to Roy High School Fire

J K Riblett, a hired fire setter, confessed to burning Roy High School to Mayor Blo ersheim and others in a city jail interview. He claimed W Thompson hired him for 1000 dollars, to profit via insurance after destruction. Thompson denied knowledge and posted bond. Riblett is jailed in Colfax County New Mexico.

Youth Lloyd Scott Dies After Horse Fells at Gate

Lloyd Scott, a youth from Roy, died at his home after a horse he rode collided with a wire gate and fell. He suffered a concussion and internal bruising, remained unconscious for 72 hours despite medical efforts, and died at about 1 o clock at his residence.

Death Notice of Lloyd Jefferson Scott in Roy

Lloyd Jefferson Scott aged 17 years 10 months 20 days, youngest child of Mr and Mrs T O Scott, died near Roy after living on the family homestead northeast of town since 1908. Born March 1 1904 near Fortuna, he confessed faith August 9 1915 at the Christian Church in Roy, attended Union Sunday School, and graduated eighth grade in 1918. Survived by his parents, one brother Eimer, sisters Josephine and Ima Kenoyer, and many relatives. Funeral Sunday at 11 am at the Christian Church in Roy, Rev Cooke officiating, body laid to rest at Roy Cemetery. He was beloved by his friends and community.

Riblett Bound Over. Grand Jury Case Fails in County Bond Suit

At a preliminary hearing in Justice Brown's Court J H Riblett was bound over for the grand jury on a $1000 bond but could not post it and was taken to Raton Jail. The state failed to connect Webb Kidd Turner Corneal Lowery and Oscar Kidd with the alleged crime and the court dismissed charges as the state did not prove a case. A new suit was filed January 23 1922 in Mosquero involving Manuel Martinez B F Gallegos Rays Raymundo Aguello and J H Crane County Commissioners of Harding County seeking 5000 Court House Bonds claiming illegality under state law and constitutional requirements.
