Little Girl Passes Away In Town Diptheria Case
Marcelina Madrid fifteen daughter of Mrs Genoveve Garcia died at the family home in the east part of town last Friday night after a short illness from diphtheria and was buried the next day in Joy Cemetery. Health officials report several diphtheria cases in the area with families quarantined and do not expect further spread. Parents are advised to vaccinate or test children for diphtheria at local hospitals at small cost.

County Road Laying Plans Benefit Western Farmers
County Commissioners laid out a four mile north route from Mosquero to Roy then west to a section line south of Salano and through Salano with further segments to Hastings farm and Roy. Future work includes Roy to Mills, Mills to Abbott, and onward to the Colfax County line. State funds of 60,000 will finance grading bridges and culverts with contracts to be let in coming months.
