Sunday School Convention Held at Local Schoolhouse
Eastern Mora County Sunday School Association held a convention at the schoolhouse with delegates from Solano Mos quero Pleasant View Liberty Pinehill Valley and West Palouse Valley districts. Rev Hunt led the program amid a large gathering with talks by Reed Johnson and Miss Kearch. Officers elected include J M Elder president J G Reid vice president Rev W Hani field secretary and Mrs Geo Lucas secretary. The Solano delegation extended cordial invitations to Ak topted and the convention set a date for an early return train trip.

The Prim Tone Progressive Circle hosted a New Year’s dance at the 0. C. F. hall on Tuesday evening to aid local schools. Funds from the event benefited education as Olen Leach performed two dialect pieces and Herbert Davis wed Miss Phoebe Beard near Roy with Judge P. H. Foster presiding.

Christmas Tragedy in New Mexico Riflery Incident
In Alamogordo on December 25 J H Castledine shot Vidal Duran with a 20 40 rifle after a dispute near La Ena. Duran died about nine hours later from internal hemorrhage the bullet piercing the thigh bone and lodging in the lower viscera. A woman riding with Castledine’s group was injured while fleeing the attack. Witnesses were Castledine and William Ostie.
