Farewell Party for Mrs Weatherill and Daughters
The Loyal Sunday School Class of the Baptist Church hosted Mrs Lela Weatherill and her two daughters at a farewell party at the Caris home Monday evening. A large crowd enjoyed music and games before late refreshments including a cake in the class colors. Weatherill plans to move to Oklahoma later in the week but hopes to return here soon.

Anniversary celebration unites RoyOdd Fellows and Rebekahs

Prairie fires scorch large tracts on mesa region
Dry weather and widespread dead grass have caused near daily prairie fires in the mesa area. A major blaze Sunday on the T Mitchell pasture about 28 miles southeast of Roy consumed around 11 000 acres despite precautions. Winds fanned the flames and lightning is suspected as the trigger during a Sunday electrical storm. A second fire of unknown origin started Sunday afternoon in the pasture beside Roy cemetery.

William Barrett father of Rolen Barrett dies at Barrett Kansas at 4 o clock last Monday evening after pneumonia following an appendicitis operation. Born in Ohio seventy five years ago he moved to Kansas as a child and lived most of his life in Barrett Marshall County. Roy pair wed in quiet New Mexico ceremony
In Roy last Saturday Miss Lasha Grayton married Ellis Abernathy with Nels Benson and Iva Bernstorf as witnesses. The couple will live on a ranch ten miles north of Rey. Rev Rufus Baker officiated and the Spanish American extends congratulations on a long, happy marriage. Rev Pepe, from Tulsa, will preach at Mosquero Church Monday night May 1 in a revival and presents his sermon Morphine tablets of Hell. All are invited.
