Farewell reception for Hall and Brown families at Rey church
A farewell reception was given at the Christian Church for the Hall and Brown families by Rey area friends. Over 250 attended as neighbors praised the families for their community service on the mesa. The Halls spoke of hospitality in Colorado and invited visits. They have moved to Parker, Colorado near Denver to start a dairy and alfalfa farming venture, ensuring Parker gains valued community members.

Loyalty Sunday School Class Entertained at Easter Gathering
The Loyalty Sunday School Class of the Baptist church was delightfully entertained at Caris home with Misses Thelma Caris and Marion Cope as hostesses. Nearly fifty attendees enjoyed games, vocal and instrumental music, and a late Easter style lunch, reporting an excellent and pleasant evening.

J W Robertson Passes Way At Wellington Kansas
John W Robertson died in Wellington Kansas after a long diabetes illness. He was born March 25 1852 in Boone County Indiana married Loisetta Mazings Cross in 1872 and had ten children. He lived in Indiana Oklahoma New Mexico before settling near Roy then Wellington where he passed peacefully. He is buried in Wellington Cemetery with a large funeral attended by relatives and friends.

Abe Hixenbaugh, sheriff of Colfax County, was in Roy for official duties on Tuesday and Wednesday. He reported six inches of snow in Pass City last Tuesday afternoon.

In Memoriam Edward Branch Young Roy resident dies
Obituary fragment recounts Edward Benjamin Branch known as Bennie born May 12, 1903 near Roy New Mexico. He lived in Roy most of his life served as post office clerk and assistant postmaster. He died after pneumonia and earlier cholera, with funeral at St Georges Chapel and burial in Roy. Members of Albuquerque Lodge Knights of Columbus led pallbearers.

Prairie Fires Ravage Mesa Burning Vast Land Northwest of Roy
Three large prairie fires broke out on the mesa last Wednesday causing extensive damage. The Spry farm northwest of Roy was hit by a fast fire moving northeast across several sections and destroying feed on the George Lucas place. A second blaze near the Luther Fry place east of Mills burned thousands of acres of native grass and endangered nearby homes, though only outbuildings at the Fry place were damaged. Firefighters, aided by residents from Roy and surrounding areas, contained both blazes, despite strong winds up to 50 miles per hour. Careful handling of matches and rubbish burning is urged to prevent rekindling as prairie dryness remains extreme.

Roy Post American Legion To Have New Home
The Boy Post of the American Legion plans a home of its own with about $1,000 raised from a subscription among the boys. W. L. Russel donated five lots for the building and work will start soon. E. J. H. Roy visited the County Seat Monday afternoon.
