State Land Excursion From Denver Draws Roy Crowd
The Roy area hosted a mass turnout for a State Land excursion from Denver last Sunday and Monday. Over 200 visitors toured lands 26 miles northeast to be sold April 25 at Clayton NM. Rural Rural Telephone Lines Planned on the Mesa
The Pleasant View meeting approved building two Rural Telephone Lines to run from Liberty and Pleasant View to J W Johnsons land and another south and east. Each line will serve twelve to fifteen phones connected via the Roy Switch Board with town level service. Lines will be strung along fences using 2x4 posts and tall crossing posts. The project aims to expand to all mesa communities within a year.

The Postoffice Department invites proposals up to April 80 1917 for furnishing quarters at Roy New Mexico for a five or ten year lease starting July 1 1917. Rural Routes Announced From Roy For June Start
Postmaster Johnson received word from the Fourth Assistant Postmaster General that two new Rural Routes will begin from Roy on Saturday June 1. Route A will run 50 miles and Route 1 will cover 36 miles. The current Route No 1 will be discontinued May 31. A full description will appear next week.
