Socorro County Fair Delivers Five Days Of Pageantry
The second annual Socorro county fair drew thousands for a week of parades, exhibits, and entertainment. Highlights included a grand parade led by Miss Paulita Abeyta, a cowboy dinner by Capt. Railston, and ball games, horse racing, and a grand NAVAJO band showcase. Winners were named in home cooking, horticulture, and crafts with notable displays from Magdalena and Carthage participants. Governor Curry missed the opening, replaced by Col. Morrison, while visitors enjoyed School of Mines events and a crowded cowboy ball.
