A man named John Shannon, claimed from the east, is jailed in Socorro for passing bad checks. He allegedly forged a drummer’s signature, cashed ten dollar checks, and fled toward Santa Fe after a brief scuffle with Cresencio Torres. Deputy Henry Dreyfus transported him to jail, where he awaited trial before Judge Green.
