United States Court Opens May Term With Several Dockets
The regular May term of the United States court for the fifth judicial district convened in this city Monday morning with limited business. Officials present included Judge Dan'l H. McMillan, W. C. Reid, John E. Griffith, Geo. Caseman, Jno. M. Wiley, Nestor P. fiatou, C. B. Sedillo, H. R. Harris, A. L. McKee, and Abran Torres. The session mainly heard Armstrong vs Owen, an Lincoln County election contest over sheriff. Naturalizations granted to John E. Sackinson and Aniceto Beltran. Several cases were disposed or continued, including United States v. Ward, v. Toledo, v. Hendrickson, and others, with various outcomes and costs assessed. TRERRITORIAL COURT disposed of Dickie & Crawford v. Ross W. Thomas, attachment, judgment and writ issued. A $100 reward ad appears for Hall's Catarrh Cure, with testimonial notes and a doctor recommendation. The School of Mines plans a May 29 ball at Garcia Opera House, invitations to friends forthcoming.

Ranch Sale Brings Boston Investor to Socorro
H. A. Blackstone of Boston purchased P. N. Yunker’s trust ranch near the city. He will move his wife and three sons to Socorro on September first and enroll the boys in the School of Mines. C. T. Brown arranged the sale, which is seen as highly favorable for Socorro.

Magdalena Mines Boom In Magdalena Camp With Rising Ore Output
F J Thomas reports Consolidated Mining and Smelting operates three Magdalena mines. Hardscrabble ships 40 tons daily, expected to double in two weeks. Ore is silver lead yielding 8 to 12 ounces per ton. 80 to 100 men employed across Hardscrabble Juanita Ambrosia. Graphic and Kelly cited as improving prospects. Shipments of Horses From Socorro County Continue
The spring shipments of horses from Socorro county continue with a carload of select mares shipped by the Jones Brothers of Frisco to selling stables at Joplin Missouri. J D Munson bought a load of young breeding stock at the AL ranch and sent it via Chanute Kansas to fulfill a contract there. The report notes ongoing horse trade despite varied destinations and owners.
