New Mexico Irrigation Commission Reorganizes Aims at Rio Grande
Hon. G A Richardson reports from Santa Fe on a three day session of the New Mexico irrigation commission now reorganized with Richardson as chairman and Knachel as secretary. The group set aside 50 000 acres for artesian wells in Dona Ana county and 27 000 acres of public lands to fund studies of the Rio Grande below Elephant Butte. They expect impending projects on Hondo reservoir and Pecos water works, with Chicago interests pushing lower Pecos canal plans.
