Cemetery Association Forms To Improve Protestant Cemetery
A Socorro gathering in S Alexander’s office organized a cemetery association. Jas G Fitch was chosen chairman and J J Leeson secretary, with Fitch and H M Dougherty to draft articles. They aim to obtain a 32 acre land deed to include the current cemetery, with $200 on hand for fencing and improvements raised largely by Mrs O Gara and children. The current condition has long reproached the town, and efforts to remove it are urged.
