Death of Mrs Rhoda Blackington in Socorro
Mrs Rhoda Martin Blackington died at 4 30 am Thursday at her Socorro home after two weeks with the grippe and a relapse. She was born October 17 1852 in Martinsdale New York and lived in Socorro since 1881. Survived by husband Dr Charles F Blackington and adopted daughter Felipa she had been a Presbyterian Church worker and Ladies Aid member for twenty years. Funeral held Saturday at 10 am with Rev M Matthieson and Rev B Decker officiating. flowers from Ladies Aid noted. J M Allen of Magdalena in city seeking help for Allen Hotel remodels.

The mayor calls a general city election in Socorro on the first Tuesday of April 1908 to elect a mayor a city treasurer a city clerk councilmen from wards one to four a four year term member board of education ward by ward and one unexpired term member.
