If House 134 becomes law women gain school election voting rights. McCash also bills notaries to perform marriages.

GONE TO HIS REWARD A Howell death story from Socorro

A. E. Howell, a respected Socorro citizen and former mayor born in Dardanelle Arkansas, died from blood poisoning after scratching his thumb on a stove ornament. Funeral services were held with Masonic rites and religious tributes, honoring his long public service and family devotion.

Mrs Morris Loewenstein Dead in Socorro

Mrs Morris Loewenstein wife of a respected local businessman died at the family home on California street Thursday after a stroke. Born Charlotte Price in 1854 in Berlin Prussia she came to America in 1893 and lived 19 years in Socorro where she was highly respected. A large number of citizens and the Knights of Pythias gathered to honor her memory and escort the remains to Albuquerque for interment in the family burial place.

Resolutions Adopted For Death Of Alfred Howell

A special convocation of Socorro Lodge No 9 A F and A M appointed a committee to draft a resolution on the death of Brother Alfred English Howell. The resolutions express profound respect for his Masonry and character, extend sympathy to his family, and call for publication in the Socorro Aoue with copies to the family. A horn and silver hand umbrella worth attention is noted as reward for return to Rev C F Tayler in Socorro.
