This issue closes the Chief tain s sixth year under its present management. During these years the chief purposes have been to publish a clean readable paper and to pay expenses. A sentimental exhortation to retreat into the woods contrasts with a church tale of Rev. O. D. Moore and a medical testimonial for Dr. King's New Discovery. A club chair rebuke about silence rules provokes visible discomfort, with life described in sharp, unsettled terms.
An old promotional piece argues longevity requires a slender diet and occasional Liver Tablets to cleanse and regulate stomach liver and bowels. It claims middle aged men can reach old age with proper care and lists the product as sold by druggists. It ends with a moral reflection on those who win hearts through sympathy.
