Tragic Infant Death Remains Observed in Challis

The infant Lottie daughter of Mr and Mrs H McKendrick died in Challis on Tuesday morning September 20 1898 at 8 oclock aged about one month. Funeral from the residence followed with Odd Fellows services read by Miss Keenan and Mrs Panui. Community extends heartfelt sympathy to the family and notes the parents belong to Silver Leaf Rebekah Lodge No 27.

An Odd Fellows program in Challis honored Colfax memory with speeches recitations and musical pieces. Bro Colfax’s memory inspired a composition by the writer, followed by a recital The Sign of the Cross by Miss Mary and humorous pieces by Miss Paul and Miss Margaret Keenan. The evening supported the good of the order.
