County Board Sets 1911 Tax Rate for Custer County Idaho

The Custer County Board of Commissioners met in Challis Idaho on September 11 1011 to fix the 1911 tax rate. The rate was set at 2.10 per 100 assessed value for state and county funds, plus special levies for the Predatory Animal Fund and the State Live Stock Sanitary Fund. A jail building bid opening followed with Arthur Fox the lowest bidder and S. M. Ballard named as supervisor.

Challis Road Board Acts On Creek and Challis Road Changes

Challis Idaho Sept 11 1911 Board convened for road matters. Denied petition for road to Pahsamaroi from Warm Spring Creek. Granted changes to Houston Ditch routed county road. Approved 200 for Wet Creek repairs under Burnett. Denied $750 Salmon River bridge wooden bridge. Allocated 250 for Double Springs Pass repairs under Burnett. Sept 12 appointed Henry Horton to lead Warm Spring Creek road work and declared Challis Creek road a county road. Provisions for Challis South road changes to connect Forest Reserve lines and proceed to passable condition before county road status.
