Start of Canal Work at Round Valley Project

Work began on the Round Valley irrigation canal on Wednesday morning with a small crew clearing the right of way. Soon 25 to 30 men and about 12 teams will be employed to complete the canal within 100 days and reclaim land east of the Salmon River. preferences for local workers are stated, with outside labor possible if needed. A reservoir on Challis Creek is planned to reclaim the west side of the river.
