Challis area call for pine wood contracts and bids

The Challis area announces July bids to furnish pine dry wood for county needs. Proposals must reach the Clerk of the Board by July 1 1806. the board may reject all bids. Also notices of mining claims labor expenditures and a wedding in Challis are reported alongside local notices and bids for school building construction with multiple contractor quotes.

Issued Ailes Summons in Idaho district court case

The Fourth Judicial District of Idaho in Custer County issues a summons against Peter Johnson and others from the Idaho Gold Mining and Milling Company. The defendants must answer the complaint within ten days after service. if served outside the county, twenty days, otherwise forty days. The action seeks to declare and enforce certain deeds and property rights, bar relief by attachment, and recover costs. The first publication is February 18, 1808.

Democratic County Central Committee meeting urged Challis Idaho

Pursuant to a call by the Democratic State Central committee of Idaho a meeting of the County Central Committee of Custer county is set for May 30 1896 in Challis to select one delegate for the State Convention in Pocatello June 16 1896. The State Convention will nominate delegates to the National Democratic Convention in Chicago July 7 1896 for President and Vice President. A specimen from the Boss mine in Tea county is described as the best yet on display with about 25 cant welds and a cent of gold content. Mr Hall of Butte reports it as the finest ore seen in a long time, though the piece is stated to carry only $3 in gold rather than $300.
