James Briner of Pahsamaroi visits Challis while County Attorney Lamme plans a Mackay move and retains a Chal lis office. The issue reports on school progress at Clayton, local movements, weather, and a proposed Challis High School bond election for June 4 to build a two dept rock school and open a county junior high at home.
In Challis on April 26 1906 Custer Lodge No 21 I O O F Silver Leaf Rebekah Lodge No 27 and Custer Encampment No 10 observed the 87th anniversary with 2 30 pm exercises at the hall. The program featured choir and readings with Mrs M M Sweet as secretary, and a well received show followed by an evening dance described as a social and financial success.
The sister Mats G Spaulding of Blue Earth County Minnesota asks for information on Evan A Berry reported missing since a December date in Mica Spokane County Washington. A deceased aunt left money in Bangor LaCrosse County Wisconsin that will be divided among heirs if not found within two years. Suspected in Idaho, any information is welcome.
A terse note from Mouth of Jordan dated April 25, 1906, states a buyer in Challis may purchase and deliver an item to Loon Creek, about eighty miles away. The message references Yankee Fork Observatory and mentions delivery logistics.
Mr. Albert Blume and Miss Mamie Botroff wed at noon on Sunday April 29 1906 at Mrs Jos Short residence Challis. Judge J G Finnell officiated. The couple, well known locally, received many fine wedding gifts as friends extend wishes for peace prosperity and happiness.
Qualified electors of School District No 1 in Custer county Idaho are informed an election will be held Monday June 4 1908 at the school house to decide issuing bonds totaling 98000 dollars in installments of 800 dollars each to build and furnish a safe addition to the present school building. Bonds bear interest up to six percent and are issued for construction and furnishing. Polls open at time unspecified and close at 5 pm. Dated April 27 1900. W J Lane Clerk of the Board of Trustees.
