About twenty five telephones were connected in Challis and the valley last week and more will be installed when the switch board arrives. The local exchange will end the noisy two wire system and each phone will have an individual wire. The current setup makes the bells ring constantly with many responses to a single call. The system is good and the instruments are the best made.

The State of Idaho sends greeting to defendants E G Dodge A F Dodge O E B Penwell and others. They must appear and answer within twenty days if served in state or forty days if served out of state. Case seeks quiet title to specific sections and parcels totaling 360 acres with water rights. Filed in Sixth Judicial District Idaho with clerk E J Michael. First publication March 12, 1912.
Notice is given that at 10 A M on April 10 1912 before N P H H Marshall in Stanley Idaho proof will be submitted certifying completion of diversion works for 4.2 cubic feet per second from Valley Creek and Tennell Creek under a state permit. Permitee Samuel Tennell of Stanley Idaho permit 7209, completion set for April 15 1913, for irrigation and domestic use. Works will divert 3.2 cfs to the place of use, with 160 acres available. First published March 12 198s.
Notice states on March 19 1912 the paper changes its name dropping Silver and inserting Challis to reflect a new identity. Publisher M M Sweet notes the change as Silver has not been an image for years. The plant remains the same and publication continues under the new title.
