Mrs. Frank Milhoan sister of Mrs. Leaton arrived in Challis last Saturday on a visit. She was among the valley’s first settlers and now lives as an invalid from rheumatism. Chris Carlson Austin Harwood and Joseph Scoble held on 1500 bond for grand larceny in a horse theft case involving four animals from Joseph Rodgers of Little Lost River. Preliminary exam set for June 30 at Hailey. Flora Hosford returns to Clayton after four years in Lawrence Kansas High School she graduates at sixteen but cannot yet teach in Idaho.
The Republican State Nominating Convention will convene on Wednesday August 1 at 10 o AM to nominate one Justice of the Supreme Court one member of Congress and State officers and to organize the State Central Committee County Central Committees are instructed to arrange primaries and delegate selections for the State Convention Chairman James H Brady presides at the Idaho meeting in Pocatel lo Idaho with business to be transacted as needed.

Surveyors for the Butte and an Francisco railroads plan routes from Caldwell north avoiding Boise mountains and the Payette river near Carpenter. A practical path goes Bear valley to the middle fork of Salmon river to Salmon City then northeast through Big Hole pass to Butte. Construction may start within 90 days.
