Short Line plans 525 mile route from Cerro Grande to Lewiston
The Pocatello Tribune reports the Short Line seeks to build a 525 mile system from Cerro Grande near Powell through Birch Creek and Lemhi valleys to Salmon City then west to Lewiston with branches to Challis and Grangeville. Capitalization reaches 5 million dollars with Bancroft and others as incorporators and engineers already surveying the Salmon river route. The project promises a rapid corridor for mining districts and state growth.
