Saturday Mining Co applies for US patent on SATURDAY lode

Notice from United States Land Office Hailey Idaho dated June 8 1895 announces Saturday Mining Company a New York corporation through agent Wm Hyndman seeks a US patent for the SATURDAY lode in Bayhorse Mining District Custer County Idaho comprising 1440 feet of lode and 575 feet surface ground Lot 58 Survey 591 with detailed bearings and corners. Also district court docket lists several civil cases and local notes on Challis Idaho events including visits by James A Wilson and Morgan Creek road completion and local society notes.

Murder Trial of Lawson Ends in First Degree Verdict

Paul P. Lawson is found guilty of murder in the first degree for the May 15 1895 killing of George W Watson in Houston Idaho. Judge Stockslager sentences Lawson to death by hanging on July 26 1895 as crowds view the historic trial in Challis Custer County Idaho.
