Miners' Union to Celebrate With Races and Dance
Custer Ida May 30 1903 the Custer Miners Union plans a June 3 celebration featuring foot races and an evening dance. Ralph Beane was treated for typhoid fever after arrival from the creek on May 26. Dr. Allen attended. Mrs S W Egan arrived from Pocatello by stage. C E Eddy and Reginald Correll returned from Utah and California on May 28. Warden Implements Fish Ladders Across County Dams
Warden Richards plans to equip county dams with fish ladders to help fish pass over barriers. A paddle wheel at ditch heads will let trash pass while fish are deterred. He vows to outfit all streams with wheels or screens and has already updated most dams.

Idaho Lands Opened Under Carey Act Near Snake River
General Manager Filer of Twin Falls Land and Water County says Idaho State aid will settle 60 000 acres along the Snake River in Lincoln and Cassia counties under the Carey act. Public entry begins next July with tracts up to 160 acres each available to settlers who start obtaining irrigation water next spring.
