Nick’s Hairbreadth Ride Down Salmon River
Nevada hotelman Nick, a Bayhorse ranch owner, rode a raft down Salmon River clinging to a boat tied to the raft. The craft veered past Mack’s water wheel before washing ashore and Nick securing the raft to a pine tree after a four mile ride. Local observers Wm. Stein and Hiram Hopper watched the daring escape with Nick turning white in the face.
