Haysen, Proprietor, advertises a stage and mail line from Challis to Blackfoot via Challis Bayhorse Custer Bonanza and Sheep Moon. The service departs Challis at 6 oclock daily except Sundays, offering direct routes to the South West and West with freight marked BH. & Blackfoot Idaho. Agent 8 Sraupimne handles shipments.
The ticket of William J. Bryan for President and Adlai E. Stevenson for Vice President was nominated at Kansas City with Bryan unanimously chosen on the President ballot and Stevenson on the first ballot. The convention, the largest and most enthusiastic yet, drew over 20,000 attendees. The platform calls for free silver coinage 16 to 1 and an American system of finance centered on the Constitution and Flag.
Andrew Marker rails against Harry Syms a former Idaho Volunteers soldier and Philippines veteran being urged as Republican State Auditor. The letter mocks Syms record aboard the Morgan City including as acting Commissary Officer and predicts minimal support, claiming rank and file dislike him. two votes total, one self, one none.
A Midland Railway train bound for Bu last Tuesday suffered a serious collision as its final car, described as steeper, was involved. The incident halted the service and prompted an investigation into the cause and safety measures following the derailment.

Word from President Bates says the Midland line from Boise to Butte now has full funding and crews will move into work. Attorney Jackson reports all financial matters settled and surveys progressing toward Caldwell with 400 workers ready to push ahead as engineers complete Boise surveys.
