A letter from Wm Peyton Mason president of the 8 F I M Ry Co asserts a railroad from Butte to Boise and then to San Francisco is to be started when weather permits. He cites capital availability and denies ties to the Merger Case, aiming to inform residents of the Salmon River district of plans and expected completion around 1909.
The Silver Leaf Rebekah Lodge No. 27 I O O F expresses heartfelt sympathy to the family of Nellie Jarvis beloved sister and mother. The lodge notes her active, zealous membership and bids her farewell with reflections on her exemplary life and untimely death. A copy of the resolution is to be sent to the family and recorded in lodge minutes.
A Grand Masquerade Ball will be held at the May Opera House in May Idaho on Friday night February 24 1905. Tickets extra one dollar fifty cents. Good music and a good time assured. A cordial invitation extended.
In poor health Mr Nels Olson offers for sale at a bargain his ranch stock and farming implements located on Warm Springs creek about six miles east of Challis Idaho known as the Jack Bradbury ranch. For particulars inquire or write to Nels Olson Challis Idaho.
Governor Gooding receives letter from Belle of Thunder Mountain Mining Co general manager arguing the Mackay to Thunder Mountain wagon road would unlock more mines, cut costs, and ease supply chains. editors note bill killed but Kirkpatrick bill may pass.
Challis School District No 1 publishes sections 2 and 6 of the 1908 Idaho School Law to enforce compulsory attendance for children aged eight to fourteen, including penalties for noncompliance. The notice details attendance requirements, exceptions, and fines, signed by Co P Heston, Chairman.
On February 28 1905 in New York City the San Francisco Idaho and Montana Railway, recently incorporated, will hold a meeting to decide the construction start. Surveys are complete and some contracts let. The standard gauge line will run 925 miles from San Francisco to Butte through California Nevada Oregon Idaho and Montana with branches and extensive surveys in progress.
