A notice offers a $50 reward for the recovery of three broken work horses missing since December 20, 1905. The stock includes a heavy 1400 pound 11 year old with a Diamond Cross brand on the left shoulder, a rangy 1400 pound 18 year old buckskin branded V on the left shoulder, and a brown 1250 pound 5 year old branded V on the left stifle.
Challis residents report a range of local items from a big bob cat killed on a hillside behind James T. Gayle’s home to a recent marriage of George Morrison and Miss Nina Bradbury in Patter son Idaho. Scarlet fever concerns prompt calls for strict quarantine while a new mail contract to Challis is awarded to Robert Morrison. A mask ball is planned for Thursday with masked attendees allowed to unmask at 11 pm, and a Stanley Basin death near Hyrum Mecham is noted with uncertainty over the cause. A surprise party at E. P. Wilson’s glorifies Mrs. Chas Funkhouse with an easy rocking chair from the Rebekah lodge.

Agnes Lane sues Carlton J. Lane in Custer County Idaho seeking a dissolution of marriage and related relief. The complaint alleges intermarriage in 1897 and desertion by Carlton on March 6 1904 with plaintiff a resident for over a year. If not answered timely, judgment by default may be entered. Owen McGinty of Mackay Idaho announces forfeiture of mining claims Copper King Iron Mask and Copper Queen in Alder Creek Mining District Custer County Idaho. Co-owners Michael Mappenx Joseph Rovelle Trim O Connall must contribute 1905 labor and improvements or risk losing interest to the subscriber within 90 days of service or publication. Report from Mine Inspector Bell details the Lost Packer at Loon Creek with 2 to 3 percent copper and 5 to 7 dollars per ton gold values in a large bonanza ore rib. A 100 ton smelter is ready to operate, and deep adits extend over 6,000 feet with a 1,800 foot vertical range. The district hosts several new companies, camps at Ivers and Casto, and prospects growing as spring rail and road access improve.
