Good Manners in Turkey

In Turkish households guests help themselves to food from the main dish using a big spoon. The host showing restraint by not taking a wing or leg for a guest is seen as a compliment. A high rank Turk placing a morsel between fingers into a visitor’s mouth was once viewed as good manners.
