Knight's Career Ends With Sudden Salt Lake Departure

Charles Knight former organizer and manager of Ima Mining Co fled Salt Lake amid accusations of misusing about 25 000 of treasury funds. Ohio capitalists investigated the firm and forced a reorganization. Knight sold stock from his personal holdings to fund personal purchases then vanished eastward as directors moved to elect Taylor president and Mage to the board with Hills and Dougall among others remaining.

Wedding in Challis Promises A Long Union

The Challis community celebrated the December 10 1902 wedding of Earl J. Michael of Bayhorse Idaho to Miss Mabel Rowles of Challis Idaho. The ceremony by Rev. R S Nickerson drew many relatives and friends, with a warm reception at the brides parents home. The couple left for Bayhorse that evening, receiving well wishes from Challis residents. The account notes the bride is a long time Challis resident and teacher and the groom a respected Bayhorse merchant.

Death Notices: Mrs. Julia Sullivan of Challis

Mrs. Julia Sullivan died at her Challis home on Thursday December 1 in her 57th year after a brief illness from pneumonia. Born in Ireland she spent most of life in the United States and Idaho, leaving a large family including Mary Oster Katharine Coleman Margaret Bowen Ettie Lillian Sullivan and sons Jobe Jerry William Sullivan and a brother Holland. Funeral held Saturday at 1 pm in Challis with Catholic rites at the grave. Rest in peace.
