A rustic tale from the camp follows Dan the dunce who swore women were all made of wood. After a mine fire, Dan rescues Maggie Trace, is grievously injured, yet survives. Maggie and Dan marry recently, with the camp’s gossiping memory noting the transformation from fool to fearless protector. Also reports Weiser Academy in Idaho repaying debt and expanding faculty for the 1903-04 year.
Auditor's abstract lists real estate and improvements totaling 565 348 dollars and personal property at 436 109 dollars. Notes additions of 12 miles of railroad and 72 miles of telephone line push the roll above one million dollars.
