Loon Creek Placer Project Eyes Big Scale Mining

Loon Creek country readies for a busy season as the Lost Packer company and others plan a force to open a wagon road to Jordan creek. Loon Creek Placer & Hydraulic, a Salt Lake group led by John P. Boyle, tests show rich gold, with 570 acres on a 600 by 2.5 mile bed. They plan a 2600 foot flume, two six inch giants, and expect high yields. the site features virgin northern ground and high grade gold at $14 per ounce, with the group organized last fall and stock rising in value. Charles W. Willis died at Challis creek on April 20, 1907 after la grippe. funeral held in Challis with Rev. A. J. Hoar.
