A regional druggist notes prompt attention to 297 mail orders with careful compounding. Writers describe efficient service and attention to patient needs, highlighting orderly receipt, accurate dosing, and timely dispatch from the apothecary.
A Challis public meeting subscribed 25000 in ten minutes and a further 10000 the next day, totaling 35000 at 100 per share. D C Smutz and Northwes Securities own 180 shares. The bank plans June 1 1909 opening with capital possibly rising to 85000 and Smutz as president. A two story concrete or rock building will house the bank.
Surveyors report about 20 000 acres on both sides of Salmon river in Round Valley will be reclaimed by two large canals built by Truitt and Lane. Main canal will run east of Salmon river near Bayhorse high grade, 16 feet bottom width, 24 feet top width, and carry 4 feet of water. Project expected to attract a railroad or electric line to Salmon City and spur growth in the valley. A funeral notice follows for Philip Hallaran aged about 75 who died at Beardsley Hot Springs near Challis Idaho on April 20 1900.
