Yellow Jacket Road Meeting in Cuauis 1895

The April 15 1895 meeting in Cuauis chaired by M R Hicks moved to appoint a three person committee to invite County Commissioners to attend. George Hosford Wm E Hanna and Walter Baxter named. Commissioners Knapp Pitzer present with Mr Johnson. Proposals to fund road construction and public highway status discussed with a $1000 to $1500 funding suggestion and a 1 percent tax levy for wagon road to Morgan Creek summit. Proceedings to be published in the Messenger. Meeting adjourned to continue next evening.

A Portland firm’s mens clothing order taker appeared. Frank Tolman heads to Stanley Basin with cattle on the 26th. Jas Wells denies Wa Weller’s ranch.
