The Beardsley Springs near Challis Idaho hosted the April 8 1896 wedding of William Waters of Challis Idaho to Martha A Halloran of New Orleans La Rev C E Mason officiated. The event drew relatives and friends with a banquet and generous gifts. The Messnger notes Waters as an honest miner with promising mining interests and welcomes Halloran to Challis. In Morse Idaho April 8 1896 residents note a move toward peace and quietness boosting the town’s tough reputation. Mr and Mrs Borjison visited Challis as W H Leaton returned home. Miss R A Hurnett stays with Mr Wright. Sunday School to resume next Sunday Rev Mason of Challis to hold schoolhouse services April 12. School opens April 6 with Miss Harnett teaching. John Althem finished his timber contract and is called a hustler as his outfit nears the road. Ranchers plow and fence Tolman and Waddleton drive cattle to the summer range. W G Sweet comes from Ketchum. George Wiggins arrives from the Jacket. George Morgan and Wilson Ellis travel to Challis. Mr and Mrs John Christian attend Water’s wedding at Beardsley Springs. John Gallagher sits with a new saw mill. Ola Mead and George Grubb plan to leave early next week for the railroad after freight.
