Historic Painting Found In Lincoln Vault New York

A very old painting in a Lincoln Safe Deposit vault on Forty-Second Street is claimed to be an unfinished Raphael work titled The Last Supper. Believed stolen during the Rome famine era, it has a storied path from a Spanish sailor near New Orleans to current ownership by Samuel Trudell who plans to take it to Europe for appraisal. The report also notes a wartime farewell involving Russian prisoners and Japanese geisha girls.
