Greek Worker Killed Under Railroad Car Wheels

Nick Vrigus a Greek laborer in the Short Line cleanup crew hung on a box car during switching to the ice house track at 6 30 last night. He was struck by a post and crushed between the wheels suffering fatal injuries. He died at 1 30 this morning at the railroad emergency hospital on Harrison avenue after leg amputation and non relative in the area.

In San Francisco on June 4, juror Hugh Burns a retail ice dealer joined eleven others finalizing the panel for the Schmitz case. Juror Boeckmann was challenged for cause and excused after evidence showed connections to Tiercy Ford and a United Railroads subsidiary through his family and his son.
