Washed out bridges disrupt Oregon Short Line traffic

Long Haul disruption after three bridges fail between La Grande and Pendleton on the Blue Mountain division stalls O R N and North routes. About 126 passengers on the westbound Short Line to Portland rerouted via Butte Spokane and Sacramento and some returned to Ogden for Southern Pacific passage. Through traffic congestion grows as eight to ten days pass before regular service resumes.

Members of the Gate City gun club returned from Boise after the Memorial day shoot with strong scores in multiple events.
