At a Pocatello city council meeting George Gittins Jr won the sprinkled street contract for 4050 dollars, the same as last year, with seven sprinklers. He also bid 4.25 per wagon day single bid. Four box cars damaged in yard collision
Four box cars were side swiped by a freight train during yard switching in the Short Line yards this morning. Sides were torn out and debris scattered, but no injuries occurred. The damaged cars were moved to the hospital for evaluation.
Brewer Vitalised by Train in Pocatello Yards
Alfred Earle 21, of Salt Lake City, was struck by Short Line passenger train No. 8 in the Pocatello yards while walking toward the depot after alighting from a freight train. He has a compound skull fracture and serious injuries but a slim chance of recovery. He is at Pocatello General Hospital under county care. his father is informed.
