The Cass county teachers institute adjourned. tomorrows licensing exam for applicants will be held. Attendance was high and instructors judged satisfactory. Graduation exercises drew a full assembly at Central building with Prof Dennis delivering the keynote to the class of 97. Prof Black lectured on grammar. Dr Fetter and Prof Bell spoke briefly. Officers elected include Prof B E Rogers president and Miss Mary Deane secretary.

The Indiana Seventh Day Adventists opened a camp meeting at Spencer park with 250 tents and strong attendance. Elder Hitler W. H. A southbound freight collision near Colfax at 1 a.m. killed an unknown man whose head arm and leg were severed while intoxicated. Wabash freight No 60 eastbound derailed six cars at 8 25 a.m. in Logansport causing heavy damage. several workers injured including Peter J Schrader and Charles Martin. Two Panhandle crew discharged for rule violations as unions face mass attrition blamed on Pennsylvania pressure.

Serious injury after push from Vandalia excursion train
William Knight son of Fount Knight of Washington township was pushed from a Vandalia train near South Bend last Sunday. He landed on his feet but was knocked over and rolled several times. The train stopped, he was aided aboard, and taken to Dr Hetherington in Logansport. Doctors say his collarbone is broken and he has severe head and shoulder bruises. He cannot identify the person who pushed him.
